Akilah S. Richards is a writer, mama, partner, digital nomad, and unschooling activist. She produces podcasts, books, classes, and articles on radical self-expression in practice and in study. Maleka Diggs is a racial equity and inclusion trainer and founder of Philadelphia-based Eclectic Learning Network; a secular, Black & Brown centered home education network with a focus on supporting families who utilize unschooling or other forms of Self-Directed Education through community, connection, and awarenesses that reflect the cultural and interest-driven needs of our young people.

When does the course start and finish?
This training is delivered through two live 90-minute sessions, and enrollment closes at midnight on July 21. If you are unable to attend the live sessions, you can still get the recordings, both of which will be accessible within 48 hours of each live session. Do I have to be the founder of a Self-Directed Education space to benefit from these trainings?
Nope, because these training sessions are for • Adults exploring the intersection of anti-racism & decolonization in parenting and SDE • Adults who run, work in, or volunteer with SDE spaces • Adults whose children, or their young relatives, attend SDE spaces
Are these trainings exclusively for BIPOCs?
We get this question a lot. The answer is no. It's for any adult who reads the description of these trainings and feels like this is something they or their community could benefit from learning.
Is this course for adults only?
Because we don't want consent (from parents) to cause any legal issues, we're listing adults as our primary audience. If you are under 18 years old and have a parent or legal caregiver who is willing to offer written consent for you to take these trainings, you are welcome here.
What if I can't afford the price?
